Background:
Professor Paul Boreham is currently Executive Director of the University of Queensland Social Research Centre and Deputy Director of the Institute for Social Science Research. He has worked in a range of senior tertiary research and management positions including ten years as Head of the School of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Qld. He was a member of the Executive of the Sociological Association of Australia and New Zealand and Editor of the Journal of Sociology and Labour and Industry.
Paul Boreham has published fourteen books and more than 100 chapters, articles in refereed journals and major research reports on employment and labour market analysis and social and economic change. His research has been supported by 20 ARC and other competitive grants totalling in excess of $7million.
Since 2002, Paul Boreham has been engaged in a major program of applied social science research as Director of the University of Queensland Social Research Centre. To date, the Centre has been successful in achieving in excess of $8 million in external competitive grant income and have been selected to provide evidence based policy research for seven Federal Government Departments and six State Government Departments and Agencies. The Centre has gained a positive reputation as a provider of evidence based research for policy advice based on advanced quantitative data collection and analysis.
